Friday's Update on July 25th

Dear Pilgrims,

We have returned from a great vacation and have heard wonderful reports of Sunday services and VBS . Pilgrim is blessed to have a number of visionary, God-loving leaders who direct and pray for our congregation, and step up to the plate, using their gifts and abilities given by the Spirit.

This Sunday I'll continue my message series from the book of Philippians. The message is titled, "Press On", with Philippians 3: 12 - 16 as our Scripture reading. I'll be speaking with Dr. John and Omelda Hibbert about their Cameroon mission and we'll be viewing pictures of those touched by this vital ministry.

Early Sunday morning, the mission team headed for Biloxi , Mississippi will be departing. Please pray for them as they travel and invest their lives in reaching out to others.

The team venturing to New York with Young Lives is in need of someone to drive them to the Fort Myers airport and pick them up. Their departure date is Tuesday, August 5, leaving the church at 10:00 a.m. and returning Monday, August 11, 7:30 p.m. The church van will be available for use. If you can help with either departure or pick up, please phone the church office at 629-2633.

This is the last Sunday for you to bring tennis shoes for the Charlotte County Shoes for Kids drive. I heard on the radio Thursday that approximately 1200 pairs of shoes are still needed. You may drop them off in the box located in the entryway.

Monday evening is our monthly prayer time at Pilgrim. We gather at 7:00 p.m. in the church and pray for one hour. If you have a prayer request, you may submit the form located in this Sunday's bulletin and place it in the offering plate, or you may phone your request in to the church office.

Please pray for Mildred King who is hospitalized.

We are continuing to refine the process of putting our church newsletter on the website pilgrimonline.org. We believe the savings to the church will be significant over a period of time, you'll receive the newsletter much quicker than "snail mail", and for our members and friends who travel north for the summer it'll avoid the often lapse in time and/or missed newsletters. We'll continue to mail the newsletter to those who prefer to receive the paper edition. We'll keep you informed as we make the transition.

May your day be filled with God's love and grace, and pray for our many folks who are vacationing this week. For those who are still in town, I'll see you Sunday.

In His Service,

Pastor Matthew Neumann
