In this third weekly reading from I Peter, which will serve as the basis for Sunday’s message, Peter emphasizes living with Christian integrity and authenticity before others. I Peter 2:21 – “Follow in His Steps,” became the title of a best selling book dealing with living a faithful Christian life through helping others in Christ’s Name. Peter also deals with the sticky issues of obedience to government, slaves behavior toward masters, and mutuality in relationships between husband and wife.
