Wednesday's Update August 20

Well, we give thanks to the Lord that we dodged a bullet as Fay landed south of us. However, the storm makes its way across the state and into the Atlantic , and we should be praying for all in its way.

School begins today (Wednesday) and you are asked to pray for the administrators, students, teachers and support staff. Our own Joyful Noise also begins and we welcome our first class of kindergarteners. We are excited that God is leading us to continue ministering to children and teaching them about Jesus as well as educating them in reading, writing and arithmetic.

Our class on prayer meets tonight at 7:05 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend; we have had a great turnout the past two weeks.

This Thursday you are welcome to make sandwiches for the needy at 11:00 a.m. in the community center.

Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m. you are invited to spend time with Dr. John and Omelda Hibbert in the youth room as they talk about their Cameroon mission. They will be leaving shortly for Africa and this may be your last chance to speak with them prior to their departure.

In light of Tropical Storm Fay we changed our monthly prayer time from Tuesday to next Monday at 7:00 p.m. The memorial service for Charles Teachout has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, August 27, at 4:00 p.m.

Norma Burgwardt remains hospitalized; please remember her before the Lord.

Let's pause to express our gratitude to the Lord for our safety and protection, and pray for those who will be impacted by what may well become Hurricane Fay.

In His Grace,

Pastor Matthew Neumann
